Pearls of Wisdom

I do not profess to be the wisest woman, but I have learned a few truths. These pearls of wisdom I will share with you (specifically, my granddaughters) will serve you well in life. I hope you know these things and remember how much I love you.

· Never date a married man. If he cheats on his wife, he will cheat on you.
· If anyone, even your best friend, asks you to co-sign a loan, tell them NO.
· Don’t be on time. Be early.
· Buy the best shoes you can afford, even if it means having fewer pairs.
· Save your money and travel. When you return, begin saving for your next trip.
· If you spend over 15 minutes deciding to buy something, you don’t want it.
· Have a good firm handshake.
· Own at least one outfit for every occasion.
· Always have cash in your wallet.
· Pearls never go out of style. Treasure Yours.
· Don’t be a slave to fashion. Find your look, make it yours, and stick with it.
· Have your very own set of tools.
· Don’t be afraid to eat out alone. You’ll never regret it.
· Be able to support yourself even if it means having two jobs.
· Every woman needs to have a private checking account.
· Know how to cook.
· Make your own decisions about your body.
· If it is too good to be true, walk away.
· Never think that you cannot be replaced.
· Look both ways before you cross the street….even if it is a one-way street.
· Be able to change a flat tire and fix a toilet.
· Set a beautiful table and own enough dishes to do it.
· Measure twice - Cut once.
· Stay out of the sun. So you won’t have wrinkles when you’re old.
· When you are older, have friends younger than you.
· Don’t feed stray animals. Unless you want them to stay.
· Keep as many friends as you can get for as long as possible.
· Love will always come your way when you least expect it and aren’t looking for it.
